The need of medical facilities in this district is huge. There are only three small medical centres where minor surgery can be practiced – but only one of those is open. The majority of the population does not have access to medical care.
Boulmiuogou district, Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). This district has a population of 500,000 inhabitants and it is one of the poorest in the city.
This is one practical way to collaborate with us in the TMC construction.
The functions of this center will be multiple and will include:
In this building are the external consultations for different specialties: ENT, GP, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics, Nursing, optical workshop, Operating room for outpatient interventions, Pharmacy, Warehouse and Waiting Room.
Hospital and Maternal-Child Center with a surgical area suitable for major surgeries, delivery room, changing room, consultation room, dirty area, sterilization, and a hospitalization area with 10 beds, nursing room, storage room and waiting room.
Construction of a building taking advantage of the three containers that we have in the TMC. Two work spaces with a double cover will be enabled to improve the temperature.
It includes a Health Cooperative and a Food Cooperative. It is a local, community and sustainable development project that promotes the empowerment of women through training and local entrepreneurship based on participation in a cooperative system for the manufacture of soap, hydrogel, individual protection masks and food, all from of autochthonous products.
This project has been developed in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Lleida and its team of architects.
This type of construction is carried out with the Earthabg technique, using only natural and autochthonous materials from Burkina Faso.
To guarantee autonomy in the use of water and electricity, at the TMC we have a water well with a 5 m3 tank. The water pump is solar powered.
The acquisition of the machine allows us to manufacture our own blocks for the construction of all the TMC infrastructures.
