On March 26. 2010, a team composed by 37 persons travel to Burkina Faso, the thirs poorest country in the world for medical and humanitarian work. This will be the eight trip to this country. Emsimision opens the doors to outgoing sanitary projects addressed to the most needed population.

Activities

ODONTOLOGY
Free odontological care. Training of odontology students. Donation and set up of two treatment units. Implementation of protocols for medical students. 5 odontology doctors will be in charge of this task as well as some assisting personnel.

OPHTALMOLOGY
Free ophtalmological care plus cataracts surgery. Set up of an ophtalmological surgery room. Training students and implementing working protocols. Donation of graduated glasses.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL CENTER PROJECT
Report previous to the acquisition of a piece of land (8,600 square meters) located at strategically located point for emsimision vision. Management, development and feasibility of the construction of an emsimision Multifunctional Center in this place. Research on solar energy management in this area.

SUPPORTING (SPONSORING) CHILDREN WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT (OUMAROU PROJECT)
Implementation, coordination and follow up of the Oumarou Project: supporting children with hearing impairment at the CEFISE school. This support includes: school transports, school fees, school expenses and hearing aids implants, if necessary.

AUDIOLOGY
Audiological tests among the CEFISE school deaf children. Set up of and audioprothesis worshshop. Audiologiucal training on audiometries.

COMMUNICATION TEAM WORK
Recording of video materials for the different emsimision projects in Burkina.

INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Follow up of the contacts from previous trips with Government officials, Health authorities, Christian churches, University students, the Burkina working committee and so on. Find new contacts for the future development of projects.
